TECHNOLOGY PLATFORM

Our Technology Platform enables L4 fully driverless automation covering the use cases of Automated Vehicle Marshalling and Port and Logistics Automation.

Although the execution for the two solutions is slightly different (primarily related to the set up of the perception) the components used share a considerable part of the code base.

Offering full L4 Autonomous Driving makes our solution fully flexible and scalable – vehicles can be added, routes can be changed, jobs can be updated all in real time.

PLATFORM COMPONENTS

Offering a complete solution requires the seamless combination of the following components which are designed from ground up to offer a safe, efficient and effective result.

Our SW uses data received from a sensor set to calculate the vehicles position with centimeter level accuracy in real time. Depending on the application the sensor set can include: Lidars, Differential GPS (global positioning system) and RTK (real-time kinematic positioning), Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) and vehicle odometry.
This information is used as to plan what the vehicle is supposed to do next. Any potential deviation will activate the fold back strategies which will safely slow down or stop the vehicle.

Our software uses sensor data to calculate the vehicle’s position with centimeter-level accuracy in real time. Depending on the application, sensors may include Lidars, Differential GPS, RTK, IMU, and vehicle odometry. This data guides the vehicle’s next actions, and any deviation triggers fallback strategies to safely slow down or stop the vehicle.

Embotech’s perception stack manages various high-performance sensors tailored to the use case. This sensor set builds an environmental model for PRODRIVER to define drivable space, plan trajectories, and avoid obstacles. The sensor configuration ensures redundancy and constant functionality monitoring, key to our safety concept.

PRODRIVER, Embotech’s autonomous navigation solution, dynamically plans and controls vehicle trajectories for individual and fleet use. It analyzes real-time surroundings, predicts movements, and optimizes actions (steering, braking etc.) for any vehicle model.

PROTECT, Embotech’s safety software, validates planned trajectories before sending them to the vehicle. It also monitors vehicle behavior, detecting anomalies and triggering fallback actions like safe stops – if necessary.

PROFLEET is the software managing job assignments and vehicle coordination, ensuring smooth and optimized performance across various scenarios. Designed for flexibility and modularity, it enables our driverless solutions to adapt to different environments and meet specific project needs.

SAFETY: Embotech develops autonomous systems for operation within controlled, gated areas. Our systems are CE-certified  based on 2006/42/EC Machine Directive and safety certified by TÜV Süd, an independent notified body.
