Embotech’s Automated Vehicle Marshalling (AVM) solution is moving hundreds of cars daily in series production without any drivers in the BMW Group factories in Dingolfing and Leipzig. With the “Automated Driving in-Plant” (AFW) technology, vehicles drive autonomously from the production line to a parking lot or loading zone. Thanks to state-of-the-art sensors, intelligent software, and precise control, they can detect obstacles, navigate safely, and park with pinpoint accuracy. This innovative system ensures consistent automated movement control across various vehicle equipment setups, all thanks to its robust and latest-generation cloud infrastructure.
The TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team is using Embotech’s FORCESPRO to manage energy consumption during the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship races. With the 2nd generation of Formula E cars, drivers can use up to 52kWh during the 45 minutes races. This energy budget is yet not sufficient for always driving at maximum energy consumption, so the teams must find smart methods to save on energy and concurrently drive at the maximum pace. Using FORCESPRO allows the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team to compute optimal strategies in real time on the car. This facilitates flexible adaptation to eventualities such as full course yellow periods or safety car deployments. The software needs to be capable of dealing with all foreseen and unforeseen eventualities during the race which is exactly why our FORCESPRO is a perfect fit for this application: it combines high reliability with superior resource efficiency such that the TAG Heuer Porsche Formula E Team is able to solve sophisticated nonlinear optimization problems on the ECU of the vehicle.
PROBOT, our motion planning software for industrial machines and robots is integrated in the Bystronic ByTube 130. This tube processing machine’s innovative feature “Quick Cut” is powered by PROBOT. Watch “Quick Cut” in action – the market’s highest dynamics thanks to the innovative redundant axis.

Swiss Confederation – STate Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation SERI funding
Embotech’s energy-conscious autonomous driving software PRORANGE has received funding from the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation (SERI) through the SERI-funded EIC Accelerator Grant. The Transitional Measures Horizon Europe Program supports ground-breaking Swiss start-up innovations to strengthen Switzerland’s role as a hub for innovation and help bring innovative solutions to societal challenges to the market.
EU H2020 funding
Embotech’s project “Motion Planning Software for Autonomous Car Industry” has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation program under grant agreement No. 873550. Horizon 2020 is investing in smart and sustainable SME solutions for the future with emphasis on excellent science, industrial leadership and tackling societal challenges.
